Is anything open on Pelee during the hunts?

As the hunts occur outside of the island’s main tourist season, some businesses are already closed when the Pheasant Hunts occur. However, there are still a number of places open to visit! These often include places like the Legion, Westview Tavern, The Dog and Goat, Co-op (gas & groceries), as well as many accommodations options.

Are hunting dogs a must?

Though a hunting dog is not required for this hunt, many hunters choose to utilize hunting dogs on Pelee Island, as they may enrich the hunting experience and allow for birds to be easily flushed compared to hunting without a helpful companion.
