Welcome to Canada’s Southernmost Pheasant Hunt! It has been an island tradition since 1932, with hunters from all over the world having attended the annual hunts on this unique island.
The island covers over 10,000 acres and is composed of hedgerows, an assortment of bush types and fields. Much of this land is open for hunting use, during the pheasant hunts, unless otherwise marked with signage or shown as restricted on the hunting map.
As each hunt stretches from Thursday to Saturday, many hunters choose to arrive Wednesday and depart the island Sunday. However, this is up to you, as ferry arrival and departures can happen on any day of the week! Feel free to lengthen your stay and enjoy an island getaway or experience other opportunities the island has to offer like first class Lake Erie fishing!
Pelee Island’s hospitality and the natural environment make our pheasant hunts an annual tradition for many hunters throughout Canada and the United States. The pheasants are raised in captivity and released before each of the main hunts creating an abundance of free flying birds allowing the opportunity for a positive and rewarding hunting experience.
If you are not already on our mailing list, you can do so by sending an email to peleehunts@pelee.ca to be notified when information is released regarding future pheasant hunts and to receive our Pheasant Hunt Packages full of all the information you need to know!
