Lighthouse Point Provincal Nature Reserves - Ontario Parks

The Blue Racer Snake, the Eastern Spiny Soft-shelled Turtle, and the Smallmouth Salamander are among several rare species found within the reserve. There are remnants of deciduous forests, savannas and an expanse of wetland rich in aquatic plants. The reserve provides an excellent opportunity for watching aquatic birds. The nature reserve has no facilities but the beautifully restored lighthouse, built in 1833, which stands at the tip of the spit.
